Following breakfast we loaded up our stuff and headed to visit a couple of other areas of the hospital and then two schools. Our guide, Joy, answering some questions from yesterday's tour. She was a wonderful guide!

Then we were off to Mara West which overlooks the Masai Mara. It was another interesting day out the windows of our van...

Hospital laundry. They had a washer (above)
and an extractor to remove most of the water
from the clothes...then hung them on the line.
Then on to the Ruby Kraft Primary School in the Adventist Compound. A most impressive school and one of the best in this part of Kenya.and an extractor to remove most of the water

Then, down the road to a very different school.

This was the workshop of a very devoted man.
He repaired and made shoes, braces, wheelchairs,
crutches etc for the students.

and for the last 50 miles, horrendous roads!
David had to weave his way around potholes
that would eat your tires. Slow going!
A quick stop at a brand new clinic supported
by the owners of Mara West.
There is a nurse and a PA at this clinic.

and then Mara West!
The Dinning Room was very nice...
Then a quick tour of the three different areas
for sleeping. This was the middle range...
bathroom was in the room in the back. An
additional fee for this room.
Onto the tent area...bathroom was a short walk..
interior of tent...we opted for this! It was GREAT!
You could hear the zebras grazing at night!
After we got settled in the tent we took the big lens and the spotting scope and headed for the edge of the escarpment that overlooks the Mara. WOW! This is what we came for!!
Laura, Nick, April and Fred had joined us as we enjoyed this wonderful view! After an hour of ohhhing and awhhhhing we headed back to get ready for dinner.
