It was a great flight from Nairobi to Brussels. They fed us another light dinner not long after we left at 11:30 pm and then we both slept quite a bit. The lights flickered on and I opened the window to this nice sunrise.
We got a light breakfast (what food on airlines??) and before we knew it the clouds had broken and we could see below.
Before we knew it we were on the ground. Don't remember much about the airport...was still in a daze. The Newark flight took off late too but we landed on time. It was pretty smooth going through customs and rechecking baggage and then through security again. More waiting. Called the girls to let them know we were in the US and got a nice surprise...Jill and the boys were at our house waiting for us! RDU flight also took off late, but mostly because of heavy traffic in the area. This was the small plane again and we were near the back so the view was good. Then we were landing. All the bags were there and we headed to the bus for the parking lot. Took a minute to wash the car and headed home to hugs and sweet family. What more could we ask for? Even dinner was ready! A great end to a marvelous trip!! Put Kenya on your bucket list if it's not there!
