Early morning trip to the airport...this time we rode
all the way to the terminal doors :-). We bid a fond
farewell to Michael...thanks for a great trip!
farewell to Michael...thanks for a great trip!
Will miss those magnificent terraces!
Chonging is one huge city!
The zoo entrance had a good number of
these wonderful brass sculptures!
It's a hot day...these llamas must be cooking!
The Chinese love to have our pictures
taken with their children...a real oddity
I guess! We certainly haven't seen many
caucasians on our journey.
Finally a panda siting! He's just hanging over a branch!
Getting up is tough on a small branch!
These guys really know how to relax!
Waiting around for dinner....
Ah, fresh bamboo shoots and leaves.
It was great to see them, though, their pens are
very small...maybe next time in the wild!
And what should be across the road from the zoo....
Ummm...hot pot for lunch...the broth in the small inner
ring is spicy and the outer ring is mild. We had about
15 different items to cook and enjoy. We're getting
pretty good with those chopsticks! Very fun.

Then onto the bus bound for Fengdu. Usually the cruise ships depart from Chongqing but it's been very dry and the water level is too low to allow for the ship to pass safely this far up the Yangtze. Always someone willing to help you spend your money--fruit, maps, puzzles etc. etc!
The road followed the river the whole drive. Lots
of illuminated bridges along the way.
Ah...there is the Victoria Jenna. We took the 75 orso steps down to the temporary decking walkways to the ship. Once we got checked in we had to waitin the dining room for a short time for our luggage to arrive and then off to our staterooms. We were pretty weary so watched activity from
the balcony and then hit the hay. Softer beds here..not the usual board with a thin layer of padding we've grown used to :-).
