Packing :-( - China Pete's - 100 Yen Store - Colin's Soccer Practice - Shin's Sushi

Packing time unfortunately!  While Jill took the boys to school we started getting everything together...looks like we're going to have to break out the extra duffle!  When Jill got home we headed for China Pete's, our favorite source of Japanese dishes.  It always takes a while to get there as the GPS never has the exact location for it.  Finally made it.  Across the street was a small vegetable garden.  They use every square inch of land around here!
 Lots of greens now...

and some covered from the frost.
We had a productive visit to China Pete's...more for the suitcases!  This will be my last visit there so needed to take advantage of it!  We stopped by the 100 yen store also to pick up the last of the odds and ends they have in there.  Great stores!!
Passed by this mural on the way home.
Headed home for lunch and to pack more.
Colin had soccer practice.  He's got 2 great
coaches and is playing with the older
kids so is really learning and practicing
new skills!
Drills, drills, drills for 2 hours!
The base tree on our way to dinner.
Our treat tonight.  We have heard about this tiny sushi restaurant for years.  Dave use to frequent Shin's the first time he was in Japan back in 2000 and each time we've come we intended to get here so finally made it happen on this last night here.  We have counter seating, though there are only two more small tables...but we have the place all to ourselves.  What a delightful evening!
Grandma's sake - in the glass and the box.
Mr. Shin beginning a cucumber roll...
rice and a little sesame seed...
Voila.  This was Colin's request...he's not at all sure about
this adventure...hasn't ever had sushi.
Next Grandma's request - Salmon and Avocado...

 Delish!!
Thumbs up from Colin on that one!
 Tuna...
 eel...Ryan's request...
 they didn't share this one.
 Grandpa and Dave got sardines...
 Grandpa is in heaven!
It's really fun watching up close...got some pointers though
we'll never see fish as fresh as this!
 Prawns...
 Yum...
Many more courses before we got to the kobi beef...
 a light saute...
and it melts in your mouth.
Mr. Shin lived up to his reputation.  We did some real damage on the menu...didn't get it all, but a good portion of it!  Colin has found his new favorite food.  Ryan is a culinary adventurer and went for some of the more exotic selections.  What a great way to end our time here in Japan!
