Ornaments for Squadron Christmas Tree - Decorate Baird Christmas Tree

Our Elf on the Shelf, Lightening, has been finding great places to observe the goings-on in our house! His resting spot this morning was a pot in front of the shogi made by Jill's friend Kenji.  He reports to Santa every night regarding the behavior in the house and then returns in the early morning.

This morning Jill and I worked on ornaments for the Squadron Christmas Tree and then she headed out to help decorate it.  John and I caught up on laundry, pictures and generally took it easy.  We're just about adjusted to the time but still get a little weary in the early afternoon.

After dinner we finished decorating the Baird Christmas Tree.  It was fun seeing all their ornaments, some of which were Jill's that she was given when she was growing up and then all the new ones.  It's been five or so years since we spent Christmas at their house...in Hawaii, and we arrived New Year's Eve just ahead of their return from NJ. and the tree was already up.  Christmas trees are so comforting and full of memories.
Colin's reach is getting higher...another year or so and he'll be putting the star on top!
But for now, It's still Dave's job.
Ryan (in the snowman pjs) kept looking for mistletoe...
finally found some.
(it was actually holly but worked just as well ;-)
 What a beautiful family!!
And a first coat of paint on the Tori Gate for the surprise party tomorrow night.  The projects and parties never end around here!  Then all off to bed.  Another great day!
