Japan here we come!

We're about to head to Japan and another great trip to visit the Baird house! Our wonderful friend, Joanne Hooker. picked us up at 11 am and we headed to the airport.  All went smoothly with check-in and we headed to the gate.  Grabbed lunch at California Pizza Kitchen and then waited.  Boarding on our very small American Eagle plane went smoothly and we taxied and then sat and waited.
Seems there was a closure at JFK so we sat on the tarmac
for about 45 minutes before they released us to go.
After a short 1 hour flight we approached JFK and had a smooth landing.
American has 2 concourses at JFK for International Flights.
You actually go WAY under the apron to get to the other section.
This great sculpture was at the top of the escalator.
 Great detail!
and of course the official New York welcome!
Onto the LONG flight to Haneda Airport!
Time to get comfortable with slippers.
It was great watching them load the cargo...and then off into the night!
Just after we crossed the International Date Line and today
became tomorrow, we flew over Siberia...burrrr!
After 14 hours we arrived safely and headed down the steps
to the waiting bus to customs and on to luggage...all there
Jill was waiting for us and we headed home and hit the hay..
two very weary travelers!
