Jill's English Class, Basketball, Box

Jill teaches an English Class at the Community Center in Zama.  She has 12 Japanese students and they all speak English quite well so the class is mostly focused on the finer points of English speaking.  Today, however, it was focused on Jill's parents.  We introduced ourselves and told a little about ourselves and the class each did the same.  It was very interesting.  Then they just asked us questions.
It's a 2 hour class and for the break today they had a "Welcome Party" for us.  They went overboard with the wonderful cakes and teas.
Quite the gracious welcome!
They even had cherry blossom tea...very special.
After a delightful class with the students we headed back home.  Made a stop at one of the Japanese grocery stores for some Japanese curry.  Glad Jill knew what she was looking for!  The fruits and vegetables were to die for!
After you purchase your groceries, you take your basket and 2 bags they provide over to a small counter and bag your own.  Very efficient.
After lunch John and Jill headed out to find the ideal
cherry blossom location for squadron wives pictures tomorrow.
They had gotten directions for a place at dinner on Sun.
They found the perfect spot!
Before we knew it, it was time to pick up the boys from school.  They quickly got to their homework and then went out and played for a short time.  Ryan had basketball practice this afternoon and Colin stayed and played with a friend.
 Some warmup shots....
Lots of laps...and Ryan is usually leading the pack!
 Then some scrimmage....
Good Practice!
Then home and dinner and the rest of homework.
Ryan is working on a timeline this week.  These three were taking a trip down memory lane and picking out pictures of Ryan growing up...very fun.
Then time to open the box that Mom picked up at the Post Office today.  Each month we make up a box with a calendar of events for the month and then some books and games etc to go along with the happenings of that month.  This was the April box that just arrived...
Hurry Grandpa!
Lots of books....Colin is looking at one about drawing farm animals since National Farm Animal Day is in April.  Lots of other good stuff too.  But, time to hit the day.  John and I followed the kids into bed!  Another GREAT day!
