Sunshine and Mt. Fuji, 'Q' and Science in Action!

Woke up to sunshine and clear blue skies! When Jill got up she ran us over to the flight line to see if we could see Fuji. As she stopped at a viewpoint these pheasants were across the road...and just beyond them was this!!
Doesn't get much better than that from where we are!
When we returned to the house Dave was still working on potato salad for the Fundraising Lunch for the Squadron today. The Pulled Pork is going in the crockpot and Jill ran to the store to get fixings for beans and cole slaw.
Great job ladies--it was a hit!!
While the girls were cooking, Grandpa got out
the paintbrush and painted the tora gate sign.
He didn't bring paint pants so Jill found a substitute!
When Colin got home we headed to the Pirate Ship Park. The public parks around here are plentiful and have GREAT apparatus!
Roller slides are super!
Zipline...
and great slides!!
Lots of wonderful camellias in bloom right now.
Enough play...time for some science. Colin's task this afternoon was to put theory into practice for his Science Project. We had 6 different shaped balloons, a rocket, tape and fish line. The rocket had a straw attached at the top that we ran the fishing line through and attached it to the tree and Grandma held it at the other end. The method was to fill the balloon with air, attach it to the rocket with tape and then release the balloon and see how far it propelled the rocket. Very fun experiment. This was the winning shape.
17' plus!!

After we finished we headed home to finish packing for our trip to Kyoto and have some leftovers and showers. Great day!
