Kyoto - Shinkansen Bullet Train

Our sweet Jill crawled out of bed at 5:10 so she could drop us off at the train station for our 5:30 train. Bless her!
Pretty quiet into Yokohama station but it was pretty crazy there. We found the City Subway Blue Line just fine--great signs around here! The off at Shin-Yokohama and up the escalator to Track #11. There were several trains before ours but we wanted to be waiting on the platform and not miss the train!
Ah..that's ours Nazomi 7 at 7:09!
Into the line for car 13...
there she is right on the button!
and into the car--it's only in the station 2 minutes..,and we're off for our bullet train experience--320 mph! It was GREAT! You don't realize how fast you are going until you look ahead at a landmark and suddenly it is behind you!
Wheat...
tea...
rice...every small area was planted with something.
and a mere 2 hours later we were at Kyoto Station. The New Miyako Hotel was right across the street from the Station. We checked our luggage and headed to the Bus Station on the other side of the Train Station. One of the Japanese visitors told us about the day pass for the bus...500 yen for unlimited rides. Each ride separately is 220 yen so that sounded like a deal! Secured those and headed for the bus to the Silver Pavilion (Ginkakuji Temple) and our first World Cultural Heritage Site.
