First full day in Hawaii

Wednesday brought our first full day. Jill came down during breakfast so we finished that and headed out to look at the snorkel gear at the Exchange and Snorkel Bob’s. John bought a really nice set at Snorkel Bob’s. The day started out sunny, but turned cloudy and is still that way. Downtown Honolulu was disappointing, though we were just driving down the freeway most of the time. Another big city. After Dave got home we headed for the North Shore. The waves were high because of a storm off the coast….pretty impressive. We drove up to the “Banzai Pipeline” beach and got out and headed to the beach and the waves were spectacular! Lots of surfers out waiting to catch the right one. John got some good pictures. We then headed back and stopped in Haleiwa for some Thai food from a truck and the world famous “shave ice”. Both outstanding!! A very good afternoon of old Hawaii! We got home about 7:30 and are sitting around before John and I fall into bed. GREAT start! Also note picture of the Baird's house.
