Another day on the road! It's a long ways to southern Florida! Got up and hit the road early and stopped in Ocala, the "horse capital of the world". There were some very impressive thorobred ranches. We drove into town along 5th St. in the historic district with the Spanish Moss hanging off all the old live oaks...beautiful...and the houses were quite impressive also! Then on to the Hillsborough River State Park where we hiked along the river through Cypress swamps (thus the Cypress knees) palms and pine flatwoods. It was a fascinating wander...even with a suspension bridge. There was a white ibis feeding just below the bridge and a great lizard doing his thing along the way. We arrived at the Resort about 3:30 after a quick stop at the grocery store. It's very nice and we're looking forward to a week of adventure in this area.
