Saturday morning we got up and headed toward Roanoke to walk the AT up to McAfee Knob. The hike was about 7 miles round trip. A great hike up and back. The view from the Knob was great even though it was hazy. We were in a wonderful forest full of ferns, mosses and flowers.
And, we were early enough that we had the knob all to ourselves. Coming down we ran into alot of folks heading up. Pays to get up early!
