We realize it's been awhile. Lots of rain and WIND in El Chantel. One cancellation of a trip because the roads were closed due to the heavy rain. However, the last three days have been beautiful. Tuesday we went to an Estancia (Ranch) that raises sheep. It's located on one of the lakes and we took a horseback ride through the area - gorgeous! On our return we had a demonstration of shearing the sheep and then had a barbaque - lamb and beef! Outstanding.

Probably the best meal we've had! Then yesterday we went to visit Moreno glacier. Did a hike first so we were above it and then went down near to the glacier front. Stunning.

From Patigonia

The web is very slow from here in El Chalten.

We have had some good hikes but the last days have been very windy, rainy and cloudy. So the mountain views have been limit. But our second day in Paine del torra national park was good.

I will try to post two pictures on this slow interned conection. Torra Paine and a Magellanic Woodpecker.

Well it only took 5 minutes per picture so I will try some more: a Guanaco and a Lesser Rhea (running along side the bus)

We will be out of touch for the next couple of days for sure.
